West Instruments continues to expand its Plus series of high performance products with the introduction of two new digital panel indicators, the 8010+ (1/8 DIN) and 6010+ (1/16 DIN).   The 6010+, described by West as a good all round indicator for general applications, features a large four-digit display, available in a choice of either red or green colour displays. The more sophisticated 8010+ offers a new dual-colour display option; it can be set to change colour on alarm giving the operator an immediate visual indication that the process has stepped out of set conditions.

Plug-in modules allow PV retransmission or Transmitter Power Supply and now up to 5 alarm relays on the 8010+ and up to 4 alarm relays on the 6010+ (latching or non-latching.) Other improvements to the specification include the adoption of jumperless configuration, which can cut set-up times by half.

Other features include PC Configuration, self-recognition and auto set up of option boards.  Developing our Plus series range has been a matter of examining each function of an instrument to retain the best elements but improve performance wherever possible, says West.s Dean Smith.  Previous units that have been upgraded in this way are being enthusiastically received by customers and we're convinced the 6010+ and 8010+ will be just as popular.
