West Instruments has now followed up the launch of its new generation Plus series temperature controllers earlier this year with the introduction of a Plus range of limit controllers, also claimed to incorporate intelligent new features for improved performance and ease of use.
The 6700+, 4700+ and 8700+ provide a programmable safety cut out and optional alarm, suitable for use in a wide variety of applications, says the company. This is achieved by using a latched relay output activated when process parameters either fall or rise above predetermined limits. The failsafe cut out has to then be reset before the process can resume. The Plus series limit controllers can provide a valuable safety control for almost any system, says West's marketing director Dean Smith. Features of the new range include improved HMI for easier and faster set up, a customisable operator menu that can be configured through a PC and automatic hardware detection, also to reduce set up times. ModBus communications are available across the range and universal inputs provide a flexibility that enables OEM's to reduce stock levels.
West has continued with the same styling and operating procedures on the Plus series limit controllers that it used for the temperature controllers. The intention, says the company, is that not only will customers benefit from the new levels of performance, but wherever units are installed together they will produce a neat, efficient working environment.
