Danaher Industrial Controls Group (DICG) announces the availability of the new HP5E CYCL-FLEX® series electronic Reset timer. Like its predecessor the mechanical HP5 – the new generation electronic HP5E is a high quality, solid state, reset timer housed in the standard CYCL-FLEX® plug-in housing.
The high quality HP5E Series timer, inspired by the HP5, remains the industry standard. The HP5E electronic model is equipped with knob setpoint, an array of 20 individual LEDs for cycle progress, and patented plug-in housing. The HP5E, like the HP5, is most commonly used in industrial applications where automatic control of process time is required. It times through a preset cycle and is then automatically or manually reset until it is restarted by an outside source.
Application of power to terminals 1, 2, and 11 energizes the unit, closes contacts 9-10 and 6-8, and starts the timing period. At time out, contacts 4-3 close, 11-12 open, and the timing stops. The timer will remain in this condition until power is removed from the unit E. Contacts 6-7-8 and 9-10-C are instantaneous contacts and operate with the application of power to the unit. Contacts 3-4-5 and 11-12-A operate at time out with contacts 3-4-5 operating prior to contacts 11-12-A, delay is 1% of full scale.

The new generation HP5E features 6 standard time ranges from 5 seconds to 60 hours; Knob adjustable time ranges and an array of 20 individual LEDs for cycle progress; Highly visible, calibrated dials (7.85 inch circumference) ; Easily read and well-spaced calibrations ; Pilot light indicates when the timer is in timing operation; Standard timers operate when power is on terminals 1 & 2; Optional reverse action is available and will not reset on power failure ; 15 terminal ABS (UL rated 94V-0) molded housing has high impact resistance and will not support combustion
Enhanced Accuracy & Reliability
The new solid state electronic HP5E reset timer is Eagle-Signal’s response to a trend toward more functionality and reliability in a smaller package, with less mechanical parts to wear out. This new generation digital timer is designed to provide high accuracy and repeatability and withstand industrial temperatures from -10° to 140°F (-23° to +60°C). Furthermore, this Eagle-Signal brand timer is UL (UL Recognition E61735), FM (FM Approval 15030) and CSA compliant (CSA Certification LR26861).
Economical – Low Cost of Ownership
The new HP5E Series timers provide economical control at a lower installed cost than other timers with comparable features in their class. With solid state electronic circuitry and utilizing surface mount manufacturing techniques, the new HP5E has far fewer moving parts than the older HP5 that required periodic repair and maintenance.
Seamless Drop-In Replacement
The new generation HP5E effectively replaces the mechanical version HP5 which will be phased out in the future. Users of the legacy HP5 model reset timers can easily drop in a new generation HP5E into their existing applications with no fuss. The new generation electronic models have been designed to provide seamless transition and direct drop-in replacement capability for our customers.
