Danaher. A History of Innovation

The Danaher Industrial Control Group (DICG) began as separate and distinct companies that were merged under the DICG conglomerate business platform in 2000. The Process/Environmental Controls segment, today, is comprised of over 26 renowned industrial and process control product brands and some 15 manufacturing locations worldwide and growing each day.

All DICG brand products are sold under their respective and reputable brand names and are distributed by DICG sales and independent representatives to original equipment manufacturers, distributors and other end users the world over. DICG is a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation and their growing Industrial Controls niche business segment and is publically traded on the NASDAQ stock market under the symbol DHR. The DICG umbrella name was adopted in 2000 as a result of the strategic mergers and affiliations that have occured over our brief and exciting 30 year history as outlined below:

1969 Danaher Corporation ("Danaher"), originally DMG, Inc., was organized in 1969 as a Massachusetts real estate investment trust. The Company conducted its operations through three business segments: Tools, Process/Environmental Controls and Transportation Products.
1978 Danaher Corporation reorganized as a Florida corporation under the name Diversified Mortgage Investors, Inc. ("DMI") which in a second reorganization in 1980 became a subsidiary of a newly created holding company named DMG, Inc.
1984 The Company adopted the name Danaher in 1984 and was reincorporated as a Delaware corporation following the 1986 annual meeting of shareholders. Also in 1984, Dynapar Corporation was acquired by Danaher Corporation for their encoders and rate indicator products.
1986 Qualitrol Corporation acquired by Danaher Corporation for their pressure gauges, equipment protection devices, instruments, and related communication solutions for transmission and distribution systems that address the needs of the electric, water, and oil and gas industries.
1989

Veeder-Root Company�brand�electronic timers,�mechanical and electronic counters, electro-mechanical totalizing and preset counters and automatic tank gauging and fuel management systems acquired by Danaher Corporation.

Guardian Voting also acquired by Danaher in this same year.

1990 Anderson Instruments acquired by Danaher Corporation for their sanitary process instrumentation equipment.
1991

Dynapar encoders & Veeder-Root Company (counter products only) merger occurs. Veeder-Root tank gauging and fuel management systems remains a Danaher Company, but is not part of DICG. For more information on Veeder Root tank gauging and fuel management systems, go to www.veeder.com.

1992 Eagle-Signal Instruments brand timers acquired by Danaher Corporation.
1993 In the mid 90's, Danaher Corporation began moving from fragmented businesses towards the creation of strategic platforms. In 1993, the Danaher Corporation acquired additional select businesses for its process/environmental controls segment, including:

• West Instruments UK Ltd (established in 1956) acquired by Danaher Corporation
• Gulton Industries-Graphic Instruments acquired by Danaher adding the Rustrak, LFE and Partlow brand products (established 1920) to the Danaher Controls product mix
1994 Danaher Controls/Instruments company was formed representing the three premier counter, timer, and encoder brands of Eagle-Signal, Veeder-Root and Dynapar. In 1994, Danaher Corporation also acquired Hengstler GMbH, a leading European manufacturer of industrial components for counting and control applications - including counters/timers, encoders, industrial and temperature controllers, relays, and printers and cutters.

Also in 1994, the Partlow-West brand temperature controller and recorder products company merger occurs.

1995 In 1995, Danaher Corporation acquired Joslyn Corporation (founded in 1902) inheriting their electric power quality, protection, switch, control, and distribution products used in the electric utility, telecommunications and industrial markets.
1996 Acme-Cleveland Corporation acquired by Danaher Corporation adding the premier brand names of Namco and Dolan-Jenner as subsidiaries of Danaher for their recognized names in fire pumps, fibre optic illuminators and safety relays.
1997 Hengstler-Hecon (Germany) merged into Danaher Controls/Instruments company for their reputable European line of controllers, indicators, encoders and printer/cutter components.

Partlow-West and LFE merged into the Danaher Controls/Instruments company.

Gem Sensors brand sensor products acquired by Danaher Corporation.

1998 Effective March 1998, the manufacture, distribution, and support responsibilities for all of the Dolan-Jenner light curtain products was transferred to Namco.
2000 The Danaher Industrial Controls Group niche business platform umbrella name is created to signify all the industrial and process controls related Danaher businesses and subsidiaries.

Northstar heavy industrial and mill duty encoder lines acquired by Danaher Corporation and merged into the Industrial Controls/Instruments company encoder line.

2001 Gems-Sensors acquires Setra & Kistler-Morse.
2003

Harowe brand resolvers acquired by Danaher Corporation and merged into the Danaher Industrial Controls Dynapar/Northstar brand encoder product line.

Negele Industrie Elektronik & Hach Ultra acquired by Anderson Instruments and merged into the Danaher Industrial Controls Group.

2004

Gems Sensor brand sensor products merged under the Industrial Controls Group umbrella followed by the Namco and Dolan-Jenner Group.

Anderson Instruments acquires Venture Measurement and the Genuine Bindicator, Niagara and Alliant brands of point level & flow control sensors.

2005

DICG division of Anderson Instruments�forms the Water Quality Group - representing the Anderson Instruments, Kistler-Morse, Venture Measurement, Negele & Hach Ultra companies�and their respective brands.

Prozess & Maschinen Automation GmbH, Germany acquired by Danaher Industrial Controls Group for their comprehensive line of PMA brand temperature, process, multi-function, paperless and multi-channel point and line recorders.
